Dominik Mysterio & Omos: Why WWE must bring AAA alliance to the main roster

At AAA TripleMania 34 last weekend, we saw a new AAA Mega Champion be crowned, when El Grande Americano defeated Dominik Mysterio to win the title in Mexico City.

Dominik had reigned as AAA Mega Champion for a year after winning the title from Hijo del Vikingo at TripleMania 33, with him carrying the title around with him on Raw.

Heading into the match, Dominik had formed a new alliance with Dorian Roldan and El Ojo, which saw Dominik join forces with none other than the Nigerian Giant, Omos.

With Dominik’s reign now over, WWE must now bring the partnership between the two to the main roster.

The Judgment Day has run it’s course

It was recently reported that Dominik himself had grown frustrated in the differences between his booking on the WWE main roster and AAA, and it isn’t hard to see why.

Right now is the least important Dominik has felt on the main roster since he first turned heel to join the Judgment Day back in 2022, with him losing most of his matches to names such as Danhausen and Joe Hendry.

On this week’s Raw alone, Dominik and JD McDonagh were both left laying by Penta in the opening segment, as well as Dominik being pinned by Penta in the main event of the show.

While the Judgment Day continues to be heavily featured on Raw, a lot of the content involving the group leaves a lot to be desired.

Where is Omos on Raw or SmackDown?

It became clear almost instantly once Triple H took over creative that he was not as much of a fan of Omos as Vince McMahon was, with Omos’ most notable moment since, his match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 39, happening during the period where McMahon had weaselled his way back into creative.

While Omos is obviously not a five star match machine, he is incredibly impressive for a man his size, and with his incredible presence, it isn’t hard to find a role on your roster for a 7 foot 4 Nigerian Giant.

The Undertaker however is very clearly a fan of Omos and what he brings to the roster, as he main evented night one of TripleMania against Rey Mysterio, before going on to win his second straight Copa Bardahl on night two.

Omos’ run in AAA and his brief stint in Pro Wrestling NOAH have proven that the big man is a very valuable asset to have available to you.

Dominik & Omos perfectly parallel each other

Dominik Mysterio has been a cowardly heel for the past four years, which is why him having the backing of the Judgment Day worked so well to get him where he is today.

Omos is also someone that you don’t want to have wrestle on weekly basis, with matches involving him being saved as special attractions on major shows.

Dominik continuing to antagonise his enemies but hiding behind the Giant, who helps him pick up the win in his matches, is a partnership that would help both men re-establish themselves on the main roster together.
