With four names already announced for the men’s Money in the Bank match, only two WWE stars remain undecided for October 10.
As of this week’s episode of WWE Raw, Bron Breakker, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams and Penta have all qualified for the men’s Money in the Bank match.
A fifth spot will be claimed on the September 25 episode of WWE SmackDown, when CM Punk, GUNTHER and Finn Balor all seek victory in the Triple Threat.
Taking the four qualifying stars so far, let’s take a look at whether the winner has already been revealed:
Bron Breakker
A member of The Vision, Bron Breakker has been tipped as the future of WWE for quite some time, and Money in the Bank would be an ideal opportunity to see him with a men’s championship match opportunity in the near future.
One-half of the World Tag Team Champions, Breakker’s future exists outside of The Vision, with the star also being a former two-time Intercontinental Champion.
Je’Von Evans
Yet to hold a singles title in WWE, Evans recently beat Breakker by disqualification, with Oba Femi being the difference-maker despite The Vision’s best efforts.
It’s clear that Evans and Breakker will have issues in the Money in the Bank win and that may cost both the briefcase, particularly if Femi gets involved.
Trick Williams
The WWE United States Champion, Trick Williams stands a good chance when it comes to claiming the Money in the Bank briefcase, if for no other reason than he’s not feuding with anyone else in the match so far, thanks to being the only SmackDown star to have qualified.
A two-time United States Champion, Williams is also a two-time NXT Champion and former North American Champion. As if that wasn’t enough, he has held the TNA World Championship, providing that top titles are not beyond his reach.
Penta
WWE’s quest for the “next Rey Mysterio” continues, and Penta could be that star, with his most prominent recent outing being a challenge to Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Penta may have been unsuccessful in the aforementioned match, but it has certainly shown his potential as a top WWE star, capable of hanging with the indomitable Roman Reigns.
Four Down To One
Only one star can climb the ladder to grab the briefcase, and with four so far qualified, it’s Bron Breakker who is arguably the top contender. Not only is the star seen as “the future of WWE”, but a win under his own steam could repair his somewhat contentious relationship with Paul Heyman and prove that he doesn’t need The Vision to succeed, potentially changing his direction towards the end of the year.
There are two names still to qualify, with the winner of CM Punk vs. GUNTHER vs. Finn Balor being one to watch, as it’ll no doubt stand a chance of swaying the balance.
WWE Money in the Bank takes place at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, with the titular women’s match also on the card, alongside LA Knight challenging Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship.
