WWE NXT 2.0 was an unusual time, seemingly aiming to specifically freshen up the brand by adding weirder and wilder moments than ever.

In a departure from the technical wrestling prowess of the previous Black & Gold era, NXT 2.0 was younger, more colorful and significantly heavier on character-driven storylines with some wrestling thrown in.

While it was an interesting time to cover to say the least, there were plenty of bizarre moments that sound more like fan-fiction when you describe them years later but they actually happened – trust me, I covered a lot of live shows.

Grayson Waller & Tiffany Stratton were besties

NXT 2.0 Grayson Waller and Tiffany Stratton

Blink and you may have missed it but Grayson Waller and Tiffany Stratton were in an on-screen alliance in April and May 2022.

Bonding over their mutual arrogance and shared hatred of the losers in the NXT locker room, the duo even had a shopping spree vignette where Stratton tore up the town.

All with her Daddy’s credit card of course, don’t forget the iteration of the star was openly “Daddy’s little Princess”.

Elsewhere in amusing albeit forgotten details from NXT 2.0, the time Grayson Waller proclaimed he had gotten a protection order against LA Knight.

A Kiss-Off to settle who was NXT 2.0’s ‘Hottest Couple’

NXT 2.0 kiss off with Indi Hartwell, Dexter Lumis, Persia Pirotta and Duke Hudson

Yes, this was a real storyline as there was plenty of tension between former friends turned rivals which ultimately led to a match and then, a kiss-off afterwards.

Cast your minds back again to 2022 to the fascinating love affair of InDex, Indi Hartwell and Dexter Lumis.

After a long courtship eventually led to the couple getting together on screen, it caused tension with Duke Hudson and Persia Pirotta (now known as Steph De Lander) leading to a showdown between the pairs of former friends.

However, after Hartwell bested Pirotta in a match after an appearance by Lumis created a distraction, the rivalry over which duo was considered the ‘Hottest Couple’ by the NXT 2.0 fandom led to a fascinating kiss-off.

Quite literally both couples doing over the top smooching in the ring, the moment was reminiscent of the Attitude Era, but not in a good way.

But in case you forgot, InDex won the ‘hottest couple’ fan vote.

Two Dimes was written off by being “sent to sleep with the fishes”

NXT Tony D'Angelo and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo after throwing Two Dimes off a bridge

The entire D’Angelo Family is a concept that was able to slide through NXT 2.0 to remain relevant even well into the next era of programming.

However, before the squad included Adriana Rizzo and Luca Crusifino – the original family was Tony D’Angelo, Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo and their third, Troy “Two Dimes” Donovan.

But when there was trouble in the family, it would end up being Two Dimes who suffered a Sopranos-esq fate of being quite literally being “sent to sleep with the fishes”.

Making it clear that Tony D. wasn’t afraid to whack one of his own guys, the same manner of disposal would also be used on Pretty Deadly albeit in the latter ended up featuring as swimming ashore and went on to join the main roster.

Don’t forget to leave your weirdest and moment in the comments, I can’t wait to see what other bizarre on-screen moments fellow NXT 2.0 fans remember.
