It’s a question that has been asked many times before, and, given the stint of bad luck the company seems to be going through at the moment, has made me revisit the question. Should WWE have an off season?
All major sporting leagues across the world take a few months of stoppage. NFL, NBA, The Premier League here in the UK all have an ‘off season.’ So why should the WWE be different? Vince McMahon has said that “it’s an entertainment, not a sport.” But even TV shows take ‘hiatus’ breaks from airtime (most of them). Sometimes, even midway through a current running season. So why should the WWE be different? Surely it would be more beneficial for the WWE and fans alike to take a break once in a while. Yes, I am very aware that this would never happen in a million years… but humor me as I break down all the possible benefits the WWE could have if they were to implicate an ‘off season.’
