WWE
The next major show for WWE will be the return to Madison Square Garden in New York City for Saturday Night’s Main Event.
The company has already announced Danhausen vs. JD McDonagh and Fatal Influence challenging Paige & Brie Bella for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
Looking at the current storylines in WWE, there are several additions that could be made before the July 18 show from MSG.
Here are seven matches to be potentially added to WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Bayley vs. Lyra Valkyria

On the June 22 edition of WWE Raw, Paige and Brie Bella defeated Bayley and Lyra Valkyria to retain the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
After this loss, Valkyria snapped and betrayed Bayley with a vicious assault, ending their friendship.
Despite Bayley wanting to hear her former friend’s explanation on the July 13 episode of Monday Night Raw, it doesn’t seem like she will hear anything she wants to hear from Lyra with her current mindset.
With Valkyria having lost it, this should lead to a singles showdown between the former tag team partners on the July 18 WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Penta & Chad Gable vs. Ethan Page & Rusev

Since winning the title in March, Penta has proven himself to be a fighting WWE Intercontinental Champion and faced off with a competitive field of challengers.
Meanwhile, Ethan Page and Rusev have created an alliance with both men trying to get their hands on the IC Title.
Elsewhere, Chad Gable has become an opposition to Page and Rusev as he makes amends for his past transgressions against the luchadores on the roster during his stint as The Original El Grande Americano.
With the upcoming number one contender’s gauntlet match on the July 13 WWE Raw, fans could see SummerSlam opponents Penta and Gable team for the first time against Page and Rusev at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 18.
Trick Williams (c) vs. Carmelo Hayes – United States Championship

On the July 10 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Trick Williams is set to face Carmelo Hayes in a non-title match.
A victory in this singles bout could see Hayes finally get his opportunity at the WWE United States Championship that he feels like he never should have lost.
Based on their history together in NXT, there is a lot for WWE to explore on SmackDown to lead up to a title bout at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Trick defending the US Title against Melo could make for a key opportunity for both young stars to break out in a big way in Madison Square Garden.
Damian Priest & R-Truth (WWE) vs. The War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) (AAA) – WWE Tag Team Champioship & AAA World Tag Team Championship

Damian Priest and R-Truth currently sit atop of the Friday Night SmackDown tag team division, but they have a tough test ahead of them.
At the AAA Noche de Los Grandes 2026 event, The War Raiders defeated Psycho Clown and Pagano to win the AAA World Tag Team Championship.
Erik and Ivar immediately returned to WWE TV on SmackDown where they challenged Truth and Priest for the WWE Tag Team Championship.
After getting the champs to agree to a winner takes all match, it looks like Truth and Priest have a battle with The War Raiders for all the gold waiting for him, which would make for a standout match on the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event card.
The Vision (Bron Breakker & Austin Theory) (c) vs. Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) – World Tag Team Championship 2/3 Falls Match

Speaking of the tag team division, there have been a few title changes as of late that have shaken up the WWE Raw tag scene.
On the June 22 edition of Monday Night Raw, The Street Profits defeated The Vision to win the World Tag Team Championship. Then two weeks later, The Vision regained the titles against The Profits thanks to Maxxine Dupri on the July 6 Raw.
Now that Bron Breakker and Austin Theory have the gold back with The Vision, Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins need to invoke their rematch clause and could up the ante to finally put this feud to bed.
Street Profits challenging The Vision to a two-out-of-three falls match would certainly make for a potential showstealer that would put the World Tag Team Title directly in the spotlight at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
LA Knight & Solo Sikoa vs. The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso)

Ever since Roman Reigns reunited with The Usos following WWE WrestleMania 42, The Bloodline has been front and center in plenty of drama on the company’s programming.
No one on the WWE roster has been more vocal about the past transgressions and not wanting The Bloodline around than LA Knight as of late.
Meanwhile, Roman Reigns has been sending Jacob Fatu to tell Solo Sikoa to come home to The Bloodline, but Sikoa has denied this request and lost his MFTs stablemates because of it.
Now that both men stand on their own against the united front of The Bloodline, WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event could see Knight and Sikoa put their differences aside to do battle with The Usos in New York City.
Cody Rhodes vs. GUNTHER – No Holds Barred Match

At WWE Clash In Italy 2026, Cody Rhodes defeated GUNTHER to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship, but GUNTHER’s foot was under the ropes during the winning pinfall.
Then, Rhodes once again beat ‘The Ring General’ with Sami Zayn as the special guest referee on the June 19 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
After Zayn walked out of WWE Night of Champions with the title in a triple threat match, GUNTHER attacked Rhodes and took him out of his scheduled championship bout on the July 6 Raw, opening the door for CM Punk to return and beat Sami for the gold.
A focused GUNTHER looking to finally beat Rhodes after going 0-3 so far could make for a highly intense and heated No Holds Barred war that would rival some of the best that have taken place in the past at MSG come Saturday Night’s Main Event.
CM Punk (c) vs. Sami Zayn – Undisputed WWE Championship

On the July 6 episode of Monday Night Raw, CM Punk defeated Sami Zayn to win the Undisputed WWE Championship.
After losing the title just nine days into his reign, Zayn was irate and distraught backstage, looking overwhelmed with this result.
Zayn challenging Punk to a rematch would make for a big time headliner for the upcoming WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Considering how much attention this title change has gotten at this time, Punk defending the Undisputed WWE Championship back in the building he started his legendary 434-day reign would be very fitting with Zayn also making a great opponent.
