Uncertain WWE futures: Shane McMahon & more names who could have their retirements confirmed after Bobby Roode & Titus O’Neil

Last week, Bobby Roode and Titus O’Neil were moved from the official current WWE roster page into the “alumni” section.

This effectively confirmed their retirements from in-ring action after not wrestling since 2022 and 2020 respectively.

They both continue with the company in other capacities – Roode as a backstage producer and O’Neil as a charity ambassador.

Here are some more names who are on the ‘current’ WWE roster page who might have already wrestled their final matches.

Tamina

There’s nobody meaner than Tamina, but she hasn’t proven that for a quite a while now.

February 2023 was Tamina’s last match, when she faced Michin on Main Event. She’s remained listed on the current roster page since then but there’s been no word on her status other than her being done with working for the company on a day-to-day basis – an update that came in September 2024 with nothing new since then.

In fact, the last we heard of her being involved in any capacity was that she was one of the names around when CM Punk was still under contract to AEW but decided to visit an episode of WWE Raw.

Maryse

Former WWE Divas Champion Maryse has been out of action for longer than Tamina, having last wrestled in January 2022 when she and husband The Miz faced another husband and wife duo, Edge and Beth Phoenix, at Royal Rumble 2022.

Maryse hasn’t wrestled full-time since all the way back in 2011, but she’s had one-off matches in 2017, 2018 and 2022.

At this point, it seems unlikely she’ll be back in the ring, though she is still involved with WWE to a degree and even made appearances during Miz’s recent feud with Danhausen.

Pat McAfee

Earlier this year, Pat McAfee’s involvement on WWE TV and the build to WrestleMania 42 rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, as TKO CEO Ari Emanuel forced him into the feud between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton.

Coming out of that, because Orton lost to Rhodes at Mania, McAfee stated that he would never appear in WWE again.

He’s still listed on the current roster page, but if he was being truthful, that’s not accurate.

However, there’s a chance it was just heel talk and he’ll be back some day, so time will tell. His last match was against GUNTHER at May 2025.

Shane McMahon & Stephanie McMahon

Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon are both still listed on the current WWE roster page.

Stephanie, despite almost certainly being finished with her in-ring career, is still heavily involved with the company as she hosts her podcast and makes regular appearances for shows like Saturday Night’s Main Event throughout the year.

Shane, however, hasn’t been seen in WWE since his WrestleMania injury disaster in 2023, and has even seemed close to putting something together with AEW over the last couple of years.
