At WWE Night of Champions 2026, Sami Zayn finally realized his dream by defeating Cody Rhodes and GUNTHER to win the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Zayn now sits atop of WWE and might need to find some support in the locker room to hold onto the gold.
Whether it be former tag team partners and friends to his rivals and prior opponents, Zayn could assemble a faction to make sure the title stays in his grasp for longer than fans may think he will be champion.
Here are eight WWE stars to potentially join a new Sami Zayn faction.
8. Johnny Gargano
In recent months, Sami Zayn has been expressing his frustrations on a weekly basis in backstage segments.
While he may interact with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis or Cody Rhodes, it seems like Zayn has found one supporter on the WWE roster.
Zayn has been seen talking to the near-comatose Johnny Gargano in recent weeks with the two men relating to one another due to being underdog babyfaces in the past.
To finally wake ‘Johnny Wrestling’ up from within, Sami Zayn needs to give Gargano a purpose with his new faction and show him that “anything is possible” following his Undisputed WWE Championship win.
7. Candice LeRae
On a similar note, Sami Zayn’s title victory could have the same effect on Johnny Gargano’s wife Candice LeRae.
The former WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion is someone who has not been active inside the squared circle thanks to keeping tabs on her husband’s wellbeing now that he has been laying face-down backstage for weeks.
While Gargano is a former NXT Champion and two-time WWE Tag Team Champion, LeRae has not been able to collect the accolades in the same way as her husband during her time in the company.
Wanting to give his friend a “light at the end of the tunnel,” Zayn could become a leader for Candice LeRae and help her to become a prominent star with this potential faction.
6. The Miz
Someone else who could relate to the plight of Sami Zayn and getting to the top of WWE is The Miz.
‘The A-Lister’ is the first ever two-time WWE Grand Slam Champion and a former WrestleMania headliner.
However, Miz is now featured in a comedy act with Kit Wilson and Danhausen after being electrocuted.
The Miz is someone who could add some veteran experience to this possible Sami Zayn faction, expressing their frustrations with the disrespect on the entire WWE roster.
5. Kit Wilson
Speaking of The Miz, Kit Wilson is in the same position alongside Danhausen after being electrocuted in a backstage segment.
At the start of 2026, many fans were drawn to Wilson with his solo act starting to get over thanks to his new theme song and “Toxic” promos.
Now, it seems like Wilson seems is and further away from rising to the top of WWE, instead being featured in a secondary role with The Miz on SmackDown.
Following Wilson waking up from his electrocuted state with The Miz, Sami Zayn could invite both men into this new faction and give them a way to climb the ladder again.
4. Shinsuke Nakamura
Over the course of the past decade, Sami Zayn and Shinsuke Nakamura have been linked to one another from their instant classic at NXT TakeOver: Dallas in 2016 to their many matches since then and even a partnership.
In recent weeks, Nakamura has not been regularly featured as an act on Friday Night SmackDown.
‘The King of Strong Style’ is considered one of the hardest hitting strikers in WWE and a highly decorated star on the roster.
Bringing Nakamura in as an enforcer would be an interesting way to give a veteran name a significant role in this new group that has history with Zayn in a variety of ways over the years.
3. Becky Lynch
At WWE Clash In Italy 2026, Sol Ruca defeated Becky Lynch to win the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
Then on the June 8 episode of Monday Night Raw, Lynch lost again in the Queen of the Ring first round four-way to Liv Morgan.
This recent losing streak for ‘The Man’ has led to infrequent appearances on WWE TV over the past month.
After praising Sami Zayn’s Undisputed WWE Championship win on social media, Becky Lynch could become the first member of his potential faction, wanting to get to the top with her real-life friend.
2. Solo Sikoa
When Solo Sikoa joined The Bloodline following WWE Clash At The Castle 2022, Sami Zayn was one of the first members of the group who bonded with him.
Sikoa tried to use this fact when he attempted to recruit Zayn into his New Bloodline in 2024 before Zayn decided to reunite with Roman Reigns and The Usos in the OG Bloodline for WarGames at WWE Survivor Series.
On the June 26 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Sikoa’s recent interactions and run-ins with The Bloodline caused Tama and Talla Tonga to abandon their former leader, leaving The MFTs.
Now that he has declared war on The Bloodline, Sikoa might realize he needs allies he knows, and wants to join forces with Sami Zayn in his potential faction in WWE.
1. Kevin Owens
There is no one on the WWE roster who knows Sami Zayn better and has known him for longer than Kevin Owens.
Over the course of the past 25 years, Zayn and Owens have traveled the world together and gotten to the top of every company they’ve been in.
Over the past year, Owens has been on the sidelines with a serious neck injury, but he was one of the first stars to post a meaningful and heartfelt social media post in tribute to Zayn’s Undisputed WWE Championship win at Night of Champions.
KO returning after all this time and aligning himself with Sami Zayn would be massive with both men sitting on the mountaintop of WWE as a heel unit for the first time.
