Kevin Owens, Jey Uso, Killer Kross and more stars have reacted to Sami Zayn winning his first Undisputed WWE Championship at Night of Champions 2026.
After nine failed attempts to claim his first-ever world championship in WWE, Sami Zayn finally reached the mountaintop of the pro wrestling world when he pinned Cody Rhodes during the main event of yesterday’s Night of Champions 2026 premium live event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Firmly the fan favorite, despite fans back home in North America souring on him in recent months, Zayn gave himself and his “Ride or Die fans” in Riyadh a moment to treasure, but they weren’t the only ones who were thrilled to see Zayn capture the gold, as many of his colleagues took to social media to send their congratulations.
Chief among those paying tribute to Zayn was his long-time best friend Kevin Owens, who took to Twitter to heap praise on the new champion, while also expressing disappointment that he wasn’t there to witness the moment in person:
I’ve missed a lot of things I wish I hadn’t in the last 15 months because of this injury but today is, by far, the one I wish I had been there for the most.
He has brought out the best in me as both an ally and a foe. That’s because he is THE best.
When you’re consistently that good for that long, you become undeniable.
Sami becoming WWE Champion was inevitable. He has deserved that moment for a very long time and I am so happy to see him finally get it.
Another one of Sami’s close friends Jey Uso, who earlier in the night fell to Oba Femi in the King of the Ring final, also reacted to Zayn’s Night of Champions triumph, writing the following on his Instagram Stories:
Wow !!!

While no longer with WWE, Killer Kross is someone who also has a great deal of history with Sami Zayn, with the pair even facing off at Night of Champions one year ago.
During an appearance at Nickel City Comic Con, Kross was informed about Zayn’s title win in real time, and reacted by saying “finally!” before beginning a “Sami” chant with fans in the room.
Kross then said:
“That’s beautiful news. I love it, I’m so very proud of him.”
In a post on Twitter, Veteran WWE star Nattie said Zayn’s WWE Title win was a reminder to the world that the “impossible is possible”:
The impossible is possible. @SamiZayn reminded the world that it’s never too late to chase the dreams people told you were out of reach.
He asked, “Why not me?”
So…why not you? Why not now?
More inspired than ever. Congrats, Sami. You deserve it.
While currently mentally out of commission on WWE TV due to Danhausen’s experiments, The Miz jumped on Twitter and welcomed Zayn to the Grand Slam Champion club in WWE, with Zayn rounding out his trophy cabinet with yesterday’s win:
We’ve got another Grand Slam Champion. Congrats and welcome to the club. Well deserved.
