There has been a potentially major clue that a former WWE star could be on his way back to the company soon.

A number of weeks ago on WWE SmackDown, Danhausen started doing some scientific experiments and was seemingly trying to create a giant version of himself after he’d created a mini version of himself at Backlash.

Rumors at the time suggested Baron Corbin was potentially on his way back to WWE, which meant the Danhausen creation could be his way back in.

That was a little while ago now and there hadn’t been much talk about it, as Corbin has continued working as Bishop Dyer on the indies and in MLW, where he’s one half of the World Tag Team Champions alongside Donovan Dijak.

On tonight’s MLW Fusion episode, MLW announced that Corbin is in a “contract dispute” with the promotion. MLW announcer Rich Bocchini – formerly known as Rich Brennan in NXT – said:

“I’m being told that there’s major tension brewing behind the scenes involving Bishop Dyer and the League.

“Sources are telling me that Dyer’s dug in deep during the contract dispute – he’s playing serious hardball.

“Despite the fact that MLW has recently completed several new talent deals that have been viewed internally as very positive by both fighters and the League, following Court Bauer restructuring the front office, installing an entirely new front office team.

“And now this is where this even gets more wild. He’s hired a notorious agent and the demands being floated are outrageous stuff.

“We’re talking a $190,000 Range Rover signing bonus. A $2000 a night hotel suite. Even MLW investing in Dyer’s new coffee business. There’s negotiations and there’s whatever that is.

“What makes this even more complicated right now is the position that this puts Dijak in, because the World Tag Team Champs have had a historic run, but right now, that reign could be on the verge of collapse, depending on what the boss decides.

“I spoke briefly with MLW owner Court Bauer earlier today. He was travelling to Mexico City for meetings with CMLL. Bauer told me that a decision is coming – it’s going down next week right here on Fusion.”

We’ll keep you posted on whether this supposed “contract dispute” results in Corbin leaving MLW and potentially returning to WWE, or if it’s just a storyline and he ends up staying with the promotion.
