WWE Teams To Revive Tag Team Divisions

WWE’s tag team divisions have taken a major hit in 2026, with a lot of high quality teams no longer part of the company.

In 2026 alone, WWE has lost or let go the New Day, the Wyatt Sicks and the Motor City Machine Guns, as well as Tommaso Ciampa’s departure bringing an end to DIY.

However, with recent reports that WWE is looking to bring some focus back to the divisions, there are a number of new teams we could see take center stage soon.

Here are some new WWE tag teams we could see join a revived tag team division.

Shinsuke Nakamura & Kyoki

Over the past few weeks, WWE has been teasing that Shinsuke Nakamura will be coming after the MFTs with a new tag team partner following the MFTs’ WWE Tag Team Championship victory.

On last week’s SmackDown, it was revealed that Nakamura’s partner would be the debuting Hiromu Takahashi, now known as ‘Kyoki’.

The alliance between Nakamura and Kyoki is reportedly set to be a heavily featured one in the SmackDown tag team division in the coming months, with them likely to unseat the MFTs for the WWE Tag Team Championship.

Nakamura and Kyoki will instantly bring a unique flair to the division.

Fraxiom

While not a ‘new’ team, Fraxiom have never really been truly spotlighted on the SmackDown brand since their call up to the WWE main roster last year.

Fraxiom only occasionally wrestle on the show, but when they do, they almost make sure leave an impact on the fans in the arena.

In the recent reports about WWE reviving it’s divisions, it was noted that Fraxiom are one team expected to get some more spotlight going forward, which is a welcome change.

Maybe Fraxiom can remind the world why they were one of the best tag teams in the world during their time in NXT.

Ethan Page & Rusev

Another recently formed alliance on WWE television that was reportedly expected to be a feature in a revived tag team division is the Raw alliance of Ethan Page and Rusev.

Page and Rusev’s alliance began when they worked together to fight off Chad Gable, Rey Mysterio, Penta and other lucha stars on the Raw roster, with them finding an almost instant chemistry together.

Page has been chasing the Intercontinental Championship since his arrival on the main roster following WrestleMania 42, so him moving to the tag team division would make a good change of pace for him rather than just losing more matches.

Dragon Lee & Je’von Evans

As part of the Gauntlet match to determine Penta’s number one contender at SummerSlam, Je’von Evans and Dragon Lee had arguably the best match of the entire Gauntlet.

In the following weeks, Je’von Evans has been targeted by the returning Big Cass, with Cass leaving Je’von laying every time.

Cass would also target Dragon Lee on last week’s episode of Raw as well as Je’von Evans, which could bring the two exciting high-flying stars together to take care of the returning giant.

In a move that would be similar to the formation of Fraxiom in NXT, two high flying stars coming together to put on incredible tag team encounters on TV.

Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed

In recent weeks, Bronson Reed has been posting photos on social media, ramping up speculation that he could soon be on his way back to the company following his injury.

Reed is reportedly expected back soon, with many speculating that he could reappear during Bron Breakker and Oba Femi’s match at Sunday Night’s Main Event.

With Reed on the way back, he and Breakker could tear apart this current version of the Vision, annihilating the rest of the division as they were doing last year.

Lucha Bros

After Penta lost the Intercontinental Championship back at SummerSlam, we are getting closer and closer to the Lucha Bros finally coming together in WWE for the first time.

At AAA’s Ola de Calor this weekend, Fenix and Penta will be part of a six-man tag team match against Los Perros del Mal, the first official time Fenix and Penta will be on the same side of a WWE ring.

It seems like Penta and Fenix will be on opposite sides of the ring before that, with them likely meeting in the final of the World Heavyweight Championship Contender’s tournament.

Fenix then aiding his brother against the Bloodline will likely bring the Lucha Bros together officially in WWE.
