The first trailer has been released for Percy Jackson and The Olympians, the Disney+ series starring AEW’s Adam Copeland.
Based on the popular books by Rick Riordan, the upcoming series sees Copeland as Ares, the God of War.
The trailer can be seen below this news story with the series following the 12-year-old titular character as he discovers his true nature as a demigod.
It premieres on the Disney+ streaming platform on December 20, 2023 and will run for a total of six episodes in the season.
The description from the trailer reads as follows:
“Percy Jackson & The Olympians tells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson, who’s just coming to terms with his newfound supernatural powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt.
“Now Percy must trek across America to find it and restore order to Olympus.”
Percy Jackson has been brought to live-action before through two movies that adapted the first two books – Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief and Percy Jackson & The Sea of Monsters.
The big screen adaptations were led by Logan Lerman in the role of a sixteen-year-old Percy.
Copeland is no stranger to episodic television having made a number of appearances on series including The Flash and Sanctuary.
His longest television drama roles were in Haven, based on Stephen King’s The Colorado Kid, and the historical drama Vikings.
