One of the biggest criticisms of AEW thus far has been a lack of interesting and engaging storylines in the women’s division. However, tonight, AEW made an announcement about a tournament that could change that opinion.
AEW will be hosting a women’s tag team tournament. It was announced 16 women will be competing in the tournament.
The tournament is called Women’s Tag Team Tournament: The Deadly Draw.

The name might imply random teams, but it appears ladies can form their own teams and enter. I guess the deadly draw part would be who faced who.
It will be interesting to see who pairs with who. It would seem Allie and Brandi are a team. Other than this, we haven’t seen a ton of regular pairings.
There was no mention of tag titles. For what it’s worth, I don’t think it’s time for AEW to do this. They could always have the winning team face off for a Women’s Championship Match.
Stay tuned for updates on entrants.
