Secrets Of AEW All Out 2023 Match Revealed AEW

Bryan Danielson recently returned from a forearm fracture to face Ricky Starks at AEW All Out on September 3, 2023.

Danielson was the replacement for CM Punk, who was Starks’ originally planned opponent.

In the run-up to All Out, it had been reported that Danielson was likely to return in October, potentially to tie in with the AEW WrestleDream show taking place in Seattle.

Clearly, Danielson was able to get cleared to make a return far sooner, defeating Ricky Starks in a strap match.

In the post-show media scrum, Danielson opened up about his return match and Ricky Starks getting him through it, saying:

“This is outside of our stories and what we do. He carried me through that match tonight.

“And I’m good at certain things, I mean, I’m good at a decent amount of things and I’m confident in saying that.

“I can fire up, I can do all these things, but he was the one who carried me through that match. And so, I’m just, that’s what I’m gonna say.”

Danielson would go on to pull the curtain back on how he was able to perform in the match, revealing:

“I’ve talked about this before. Magicians don’t necessarily reveal their secrets, but because we have the best fans in the world here at AEW and people are legitimately concerned for my safety, I will pull back the curtain a little bit in this.

“There was a lot of smoke and mirrors tonight and I was in no danger whatsoever, other than the regular danger that you could do getting a hip toss, but I didn’t even throw a strike with my right arm, and I don’t think anybody noticed.”

He would also reveal that a number of doctors had cleared him for an in-ring return, suggesting these were both AEW medical staff and external professionals.
