AEW Star Confirms Hiatus For Huge Project AEW

AEW star Darby Allin has provided an update on his upcoming Mount Everest expedition, revealing when he will take a wrestling hiatus.

Allin was part of Sting’s retirement match at AEW Revolution, teaming with the Icon to defeat Matthew and Nicholas Jackson of the Young Bucks.

Darby Allin took a scary bump during the bout, jumping off of a ladder through glass at ringside.

Speaking during the post-show media scrum, Darby Allin revealed that he survived the spot. Discussing Sting’s send-off, Allin said:

“I wanted to come here to let people know I was still alive. I was in the middle of getting stitched up, but I wanted to show everybody that the doctors are on top of it, I’m still breathing.

“I feel fine, and as long as Flair, Steamboat, Sting, the Bucks, everybody else feels fine, then we’re beautiful.”

Allin noted that he’ll leave to climb Mount Everest on March 27, saying:

“I talked to the doctors. They gave me a doctor’s note to climb Mount Everest. I leave on March 27.”

Allin’s next AEW match has been announced, with the now-former AEW Tag Team Champion (the title has been vacated) set to compete against Jay White at the March 13 Big Business event, ahead of his expedition.
