On tonight’s AEW Dynamite, an update on the saga of Chris Jericho and his latest potential tag team partner and pupil.
Continuing to encourage HOOK that he needs to be ‘under the learning tree’ of Jericho, Chris Jericho had an in-ring segment with both the young star and Taz.
Taz is of course HOOK’s real-life father and would end up playing an integral role in the segment breaking down.
After telling him about all of the successful former mentees in AEW that he has worked with, Jericho continued to insist that HOOK needed him.
Jericho told HOOK he needs to help him get rid of the ‘dead weight’ that has been surrounding him for his entire life, and brushed off Taz’s attempts to interject.
Eventually it led to Jericho shoving Taz, sending him falling to his knees with commentary making note of his real-life knee issues.
This instigated HOOK to get in Jericho’s face, telling him that he will beat him again anywhere and anytime and then dismissed him from ‘his ring’.
Intriguingly, Chris Jericho acquiesced the ring to HOOK and just left.
Later in the show, it was confirmed that at Dynasty this Sunday, HOOK will defend the FTW Championship against Jericho.

After everything Chris Jericho has done to this point, how receptive will HOOK be?
