The main event of the January 25 episode of AEW Dynamite saw Mark Briscoe face Jay Lethal in a tribute to the legacy of the late Jay Briscoe.
The emotional match saw Tony Schiavone and Taz leave, with ROH announcers Ian Riccaboni and Caprice Coleman stepping in to join Excalibur at the announce desk.
In response to a video of the final moments of the match and the celebration for Jay Briscoe that followed, ROH’s Ian Riccaboni has responded on Twitter.

In his Tweet, Riccaboni says:
“I’ll never forget this night.
“I’m so proud of Mark and Jay for forging on. Everyone grieves differently but you’ve brought hope to a lot of people tonight.
“If you are ready, reach out to that person you miss. Tell them that you love them. Never been a better day then today.”
He would follow this tweet up with praise for the AEW commentary team and for Tony Khan, saying:
“Thank you to @ShutUpExcalibur for giving @CapriceColeman & I the floor to share our memories.
“Thank you to @OfficialTAZ & @tonyschiavone24 for your hospitality.
“Thank you @TonyKhan for giving us the platform to share the Jay that so many knew & loved w the #AEWDynamite audience.”
Jay Briscoe passed away on January 17 2023 in an automobile accident in Laurel, Delaware.
A fundraising page was set up by a friend of the family that can be found here.
