AEW Star Being Forced To Lose Championship? AEW

AEW wants Komander to feature regularly on Collision meaning that he could be dropping the AAA titles that he currently holds.

Komander made his AEW debut in March 2023 in the Face of the Revolution ladder match and went on to make his ROH debut at Supercard of Honor of March 31.

Tony Khan would confirm that the Mexican wrestling star had signed an AEW contract on April 19, 2023.

With Komander being both the Lucha Libre AAA World Cruiserweight Champion and one-half of the AAA World Tag Team Champions with Arez, AEW plans may cut his championship reigns short.

Dave Meltzer revealed the plans for Komander on AEW Collision in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, writing:

Komander, who has the cruiserweight and tag titles (Arez) here may have to be dropping them.

AEW pretty much said they wanted Komander every Saturday and that leaves it being difficult to book since AAA’s TVs are often on Saturdays.

Komander has previously been approached by WWE and AEW before choosing to sign with Tony Khan.

The reason for his decision to sign with AEW has previously been reported with it being stated that WWE would put him on an NXT level deal initially.

After Komander’s AEW debut it was reported that Tony Khan had hoped to get El Hijo de Vikingo but he wasn’t available for the match.

Vikingo would go on to make his AEW debut on the March 22 2023 episode of Dynamite.
