It wasn’t long ago that Jeff Hardy returned to AEW, but he’s set to have another period of absence away from the company.
Following last night’s June 21 Dynamite in Chicago, AEW is now embarking on a tour of Canada for eight consecutive shows starting with Forbidden Door in Toronto on June 25 and finishing with Collision in Calgary on June 15.
Fightful Select has confirmed that, due to his history of arrests, Jeff Hardy is unable to travel into Canada so he won’t be able to attend any AEW shows until the promotion returns to the US for the July 19 Dynamite in Boston.
Hardy was in action to open last night’s Dynamite, as he and brother Matt Hardy lost to Austin & Colten Gunn thanks to interference from Bullet Club Gold.
There then followed a big post-match brawl which resulted in a match being made for Collision this Saturday in Toronto that will be the Gunns and Bullet Club Gold vs CM Punk, FTR and Ricky Starks.
The Hardys kind of disappeared in amongst the brawl, and now we know why.
It’s always possible that AEW could pre-tape some segments for Jeff in the meantime, but he won’t be in attendance at shows until July 19.
