AEW Star Reflects On Working With The Rock In WWE

An AEW star has reflected on working with The Rock in WWE.

At AEW All Out 2023, Miro defeated Powerhouse Hobbs. Following the bout, Miro’s wife and former WWE star CJ Perry made her AEW debut.

Prior to her arrival in All Elite Wrestling, the former Lana made a name for herself in WWE as a manager and wrestler, interacting with many of the top stars in the promotion along the way.

While her interactions with John Cena and Roman Reigns have to be highlights, there is probably no segment more memorable for Perry than when she and Miro, then Rusev, worked with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

In an interview on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, CJ Perry reflected on working with The Rock in WWE. On how the promo segment with The Rock came to be, she said:

“Oh, yeah, that was really funny,”

“So we get a promo. Like, in the middle of the day, we were working Big Show at the time. And this is when Miro was undefeated, and he was a hero of the Russian Federation. So they give us this promo, it doesn’t make a lot of sense.”

“And they’re like, look at 7:15, meet us back by this door and this bus, and you’re gonna know what happens here.”

“Like, okay, so I’m learning that we go back there. Then they open the door, and it’s Dwayne in there. And I’m like, wait, what?”

“And they’re like, scratch that promo. So we had 45 minutes, it was maybe an hour, we had to learn a whole new thing, but it was great. It was a lot of fun.”

CJ Perry is currently scouting talent for her new management company on AEW TV, while her husband Miro has been attacking anyone she sets her sights on.

Meanwhile, The Rock recently made his return to WWE on the September 15 edition of SmackDown in a segment with Pat McAfee and Austin Theory.

However, this doesn’t mean Johnson will be making his in-ring return anytime soon.
