An AEW star has spoken ahead of a major opportunity to face off with AEW World Champion MJF, name-dropping several members of the roster in a heartfelt post on social media beforehand.
In what was a surprise to many, following his win over Trent Beretta on AEW Rampage (November 3) Daniel Garcia would issue a bold challenge to MJF for a title match on the November 8 AEW Dynamite from Portland, OR.
This was accepted by Friedman shortly thereafter on Twitter, despite being just over a week away from defending his championship at Full Gear 2023 against ‘Switchblade’ Jay White on November 18.
Regardless of MJF’s Full Gear plans, the match is set to happen and will be the first AEW World Title opportunity of Garcia’s career.
Given the magnitude of the situation, Garcia would attempt to convey his feelings on Twitter beforehand, where he had a message of dedication towards many other young stars on the AEW roster.
Garcia tweeted:
This one feels bigger than me. For Ricky, for Private Party, for Moriarty, for Take, for Anna, for Darius, for Ethan, for Action, for Stoke, maybe even for Sammy and Yuta.
We take it back and lead AEW into the future. The right way.
Restore the feeling.
MJF has no shortage of problems on AEW TV at the moment, being pursued by the likes of Wardlow and Samoa Joe, while also having to deal with distractions from Roderick Strong and The Kingdom and of course Jay White and Bullet Club Gold.
By taking the match with Garcia, however, a new AEW record will also be set, to find out more about this click here.
