AEW star Saraya has reflected on the nine year anniversary of an infamous WWE match that led to a worldwide trend.
Women’s wrestling has come a very long way in the past decade. The perception of female wrestling stars has changed in a major way with fans and companies alike taking them a lot more seriously.
A lot of this change stemmed from WWE’s treatment of the Divas division in the mid-2010s.
On the February 23, 2015 episode of WWE Raw, The Bella Twins defeated Paige and Emma in 30 seconds. Following the bout, “#GiveDivasAChance” began to trend on Twitter due to fan outrage.
On February 23, 2024, former AEW Women’s World Champion Saraya took to social media to retweet a nine-year anniversary post for the infamous WWE bout. She wrote:

Saraya is currently embroiled in a storyline with Ruby Soho and “Cool Hand” Angelo Parker in AEW.
