An AEW star has spoken about Jon Moxley and his new faction the Death Riders, and how Tony Khan may be feeling in reaction to some of their comments on TV.
Since returning from a two month hiatus in late August, AEW World Champion Jon Moxley has had fans guessing as to his motivations in his violent takeover of the company.
The key mystery to the angle is the potential for a higher power of sorts directing the Death Riders’ actions, with Moxley cryptically stating that AEW is “not your company anymore”.
What this means remains to be seen, however, one AEW star believes that Moxley’s words won’t sit right with Tony Khan – that being Dustin Rhodes.
Speaking to Sports Guys Talk Wrestling, Rhodes addressed the ongoing angle saying he’d imagine that Khan will be a “little upset” with the “not your company anymore” line in particular.
Rhodes said:
“You have to have eyes in the back of your head at all times, Mox and his group, they’re tough. They’re fighters and that’s what they do and have done for a living.
“I don’t know what Mox’s deal is, but this isn’t his company. We all work here, and I’ve been here since the beginning. Tony (Khan) knows that and Tony knows it is his company.
“I would imagine Tony is a little bit upset that he’s calling it ‘his company.’ You always have to have eyes in the back of your head and ready for anything because they can attack anybody at any time, whether you agree with them or not. They are there in numbers. Numbers are what gets people down.”
Moxley is set to “seize” the TBS Superstation on tonight’s AEW Dynamite from Bridgeport, CT as time draws closer to his first AEW World Title defence against Orange Cassidy at Full Gear.
