AEW stars Shawn Spears and Austin Gunn both have their eyes on Dolph Ziggler following his September 21 WWE release.
Ziggler was one of a number of now-former WWE stars that were released by the company yesterday.
Big E, The Rock and John Cena were among the names who reacted to Ziggler’s release with praise for his nearly twenty-year run with WWE.
Before his release, Ziggler’s brother, Ryan Nemeth, recently teased the idea of Ziggler making a jump to AEW.
Both Spears and Gunn have clear enthusiasm for the suggestion, sharing their thoughts on Twitter.
Former AEW World Tag Team Champion Austin Gunn tweeted:
“sup?? @HEELZiggler @ryrynemnem”
Shawn Spears, a former WWE star in his own right as Tye Dillinger, tweeted:
“I’m a major @HEELZiggler guy.
“He’s the man.
“Now, wrestle me.”
Providing Ziggler is subject to the usual WWE main roster non-compete period of 90 days, he should be available for bookings from December 20, 2023.
