An AEW tag team that has been teasing break-up for some time saw their the division reach new heights on this week’s Dynamite.
On last night’s AEW Dynamite, The Acclaimed made an unusually subdued entrance ahead of their match against the Hurt Syndicate’s Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley.
While a backstage promo explained why Caster wouldn’t be rapping (with him saying the match was too serious for a rap entrance), when the team hit the ring things took a darker turn.
When Caster insisted on being tagged in and tagged himself in, Bowens watched the rest of the match from off the apron, making it clear that he wasn’t planning on intervening in the subsequent beat down.
After a beatdown from Benjamin and numerous moves from Lashley, finally Caster would submit to the Hurt Lock and Bowens didn’t look particularly concerned.
In clip shared online by AEW, Bowens was asked what happened out there and the star replied, “Don’t ask me, ask him.”
However when Max Caster was asked, he would go on to refer to himself in third-person as the ‘Best Wrestler Alive’ multiple times before being interrupted by Bowens.
In the exchange, Bowens revealed to Caster that Daddy Ass Billy Gunn has been absent because Max was annoying, to which Caster shockingly replied “f**k Billy”.
Bowens then revealed that the only reason he hasn’t punched Caster out is because Daddy Ass asked him not to.
