Tonight[1/1/20] on AEW, Riho defended her title against 3 other women. The AEW Women’s Champion face Nyla Rose, Britt Baker, and Hikaru Shida.
Riho was able to pick up the win by rolling up Baker. Baker looked to have the victory, but Riho swooped in at the last second and stole the victory.
After the match, Nyla Rose attacked Riho and put her through a table. Later on, Baker confronted Riho and accused her of not being committed to AEW and putting in the weekly effort to be champion.

With 2 folks clearly coming after her title, she’ll face another tough competitor next week. Kris Statlander challenges Riho on the 1/8/2020 edition of Dynamite. This match was supposed to take place tonight, but Statlander had to miss the show.
There were 4 other segments announced for next week as a part of the show.
- The Rhodes Family will face The Lucha Bros.
- Christopher Daniels will go 1 on 1 with Sammy Guevara to prove he’s still got it.
- Jon Moxley promised to answer Chris Jericho’s offer to join The Inner Circle.
- Kenny Omega and Adam Hangman Page will face Private Party.
Page was on commentary tonight and said he’s been trying to separate himself from The Elite, but he keeps getting put in matches with Omega. At some point, he’ll turn against them, but the question is when and how.
Several fans are predicting Page joining The Dark Order. While this could be an option, Page’s character doesn’t seem to connect with a cult-like faction.
