Will Ospreay has said that he’d like to see a former WWE star sign with AEW following their recent in-ring return.
Dakota Kai made her return to the ring at the March 8 Pro Wrestling EVE Wrestle Queendom VIII show, wrestling for the first time since her WWE release in May 2025.
With Will Ospreay having been instrumental in securing the former Dakota Kai’s return to in-ring action, the AEW star has now addressed the possibility of her signing under Tony Khan.
On Twitter, a fan asked whether fans would be “very happy and like to see” the star now known as Charlie step foot in an AEW ring.
Ospreay would share an emphatic response to the suggestion, tweeting:
“Yes”
The former Dakota Kai was released from her contract in May of last year, bringing her second run in WWE to an end after three years.
Having signed with WWE for the first time in December 2016, the star would go on to be released in April 2022, being rehired later that year and appearing at SummerSlam.
She is a former two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion (with IYO SKY as Damage CTRL) and inaugural (and two-time) NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion with Raquel Gonzalez.
With her last WWE match taking place in March of last year, Charlie has recently addressed her mindset during her in-ring absence.
