17-time WWE world champion John Cena has reacted to British independent star Will Kroos making his debut on NXT.

A number of new signings made their debuts during the April 28 NXT episode, including former PROGRESS Atlas Champion Will Kroos.

Kroos attacked Tony D’Angelo during the show, hitting a moonsault on the NXT Champion following the titleholder’s confrontations with EVIL and Tavion Heights.

British independent wrestling fans are very familiar with Kroos, as is John Cena apparently, who re-shared a video of Kroos’ debut on Twitter.

Referencing a popular BritWres chant, John Cena wrote:

HE’S BIG….
HE’S BAD….
HE’LL BODYSLAM YOUR DAD!!! 🔥🔥🔥

This is a chant synonymous with Will Kroos, as was referenced in NORTH Wrestling’s NORTH Stories video on Wednesday (April 29).

This hat-tip from John Cena is huge for Will Kroos, who will be looking to stand out, not just on the NXT roster, but among all of the company’s recent debuts.

John Cena giving Kroos this nod marks the British star as a name to watch, and fans in the US will soon see why the UK scene is celebrating Kroos’ debut.

In addition to this, Kroos’ debut appearance seeing him stand over the current NXT Champion also highlights the independent star as a future star.

It’s clear that many both within and outside of NXT have high hopes in Kroos, and it will be interesting to see what he does next.

Other previously-UK-based debutants on Tuesday’s NXT episode included English stars Lizzy Rain and Tristan Angels.

Tate Wilder, Kam Hendrix and former IWGP Heavyweight Champion EVIL were also showcased during the April 28 show.

WWE has also announced its latest Performance Center “rookie” class, confirming four new signings.
