WWE star AJ Styles has revealed which wrestler his theme song was originally meant for.
AJ Styles debuted for WWE in 2016 with what would become a wildly popular theme song called “Phenomenal”.
In a recent interview with Alex McCarthy of Inside The Ropes, the two-time WWE Champion discussed his theme and revealed who it was originally intended for.
Styles said:
“It wasn’t made for me. It was made for [James Storm]. And then I kind of explained what I’d like to [hear for my theme song], and it was that song that they presented.”
James Storm is best known for his time in IMPACT Wrestling where he is a former IMPACT World Champion and seven-time Tag Team Champion.
In 2015, Storm left IMPACT and appeared for WWE NXT twice. In his surprise debut, he used a theme song entitled, “Game Up”.
Road Dogg Brian James revealed in an episode for Table For 3 that Storm turned down CFO$-produced theme that would eventually become AJ Styles’ iconic entrance theme.
