IMPACT Wrestling has announced that former AEW star Alan Angels will make his debut for the promotion on Thursday’s show.
On the show, Angels will challenge for ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey’s X Division Championship.
This match was taped during last weekend’s IMPACT TV tapings. You can read spoilers for the bout at this link.
After fuelling speculation that he had finished up with AEW with a cryptic tweet, Angels confirmed that his deal with the company expired on June 30. He has also confirmed that he chose to turn down a per-appearance deal with AEW.
He last wrestled for AEW during a dark taping on June 11, facing Daniel Garcia in a pure rules bout.
‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey won the X Division Championship during the Ultimate X match that took place at Slammiversary on June 19. He recently defended the gold against Trey Miguel at ‘Against All Odds’ on July 1.
We will continue to provide updates on Alan Angels’ status as they become available.
