The backstage reaction to Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens’ off-air angle following WWE Bad Blood has been revealed.
After weeks of teasing a heel turn on WWE SmackDown, Kevin Owens finally lowered the boom on Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes following last weekend’s Bad Blood premium live event.
The angle didn’t take place on the show, nor has WWE aired the angle anywhere since it happened, however.
The angle took place following the show, with Owens attacking Cody outside his bus after a brief argument broke out between the two, which was captured solely by fans in attendance.
In an update on the angle from Fightful Select (subscription required), WWE were said to be very happy with how the angle came off.
Following the segment, Cody Rhodes was said to have been ‘actually a little roughed up’.
However, the segment garnered a lot of buzz and came off as very spontaneous, which the company was said to have loved.
Cody is currently set to face off against World Heavyweight Champion Gunther for the new ‘Crown Jewel Championship’ at WWE Crown Jewel next month.
