WWE
WWE has filed an application to trademark “Mason Rook” with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO).
The application was made by WWE on April 23, 2026 under the Goods and Services category with the serial number: 99782451.
The description of the filing reads:
Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment
Who Will Be Given The Name Mason Rook?
While USPTO filings are never a guarantee that a name or term will be used on WWE TV, it typically does indicate that the company have decided upon a talent’s ring name before they debut, or in some cases, that an existing star will be undergoing a name change, as seen recently when Eli Knight became EK Prosper.
Unlike another recent WWE trademark filing for “Shido Ash,” which appears to be the name given to former Judo Olympian Shady Elnahas, it’s not clear which talent will be given the name Mason Rook.
We will provide updates on the situation as more information becomes available.
A New Era For WWE NXT After WrestleMania 42
As if often the case post-WrestleMania, we have already seen some big roster shifts across WWE’s three brands, with top stars like Roman Reigns and Rhea Ripley swapping brands and NXT names: Ethan Page, Sol Ruca and Joe Hendry moving to Raw.
With other NXT call-ups like Jacy Jayne and Ricky Saints being speculated upon, the NXT roster could very well use some fresh faces.
Thankfully, as well as names such as Kali Armstrong, The Vanity Project, Shiloh Hill, WWE NXT will be seeing the debut of Lizzy Rain next week.
Rain, who signed with WWE earlier this year, had competed on the independent scene as Rayne Leverkusen, and previously impressed during a three-day SummerSlam 2025 tryout.
She will now be taking her talents to WWE NXT television, and looks primed to be one of the brand’s potential breakout stars in 2026.
In a post on social media, Rain revealed that her entrance jacket actually belonged to her late uncle, Iron Maiden drummer Clive Burr – click here for full details.
