Sol Ruca has revealed that she had to have eight staples in her head after the Last Woman Standing match on this week’s WWE NXT.
Having appeared on the Raw after WrestleMania 42 in a losing effort against Liv Morgan, Sol Ruca would find that Zaria had followed her to the Monday night show, ahead of their match on the April 21 episode of WWE NXT.
It would be Zaria who would be victorious in their Last Woman Standing match, pushing Ruca off a platform and through a table to bring an end to their bitter rivalry on NXT.
The outcome of the match would see Zaria state that “nobody is safe in NXT”, suggesting that her WWE Raw appearance wasn’t a main roster call-up. It also wasn’t specified that Ruca was also on her way to the main roster, either.
With Ruca having only been put through one of the two tables on NXT, with the back of her head clipping the edge of the second table, it has now transpired that she received eight staples to the top of her head as a result of the fall, with the WWE star sharing a photo of the injury on Instagram.
In a post of images with the caption “:’)”, the 12th photo is in black and white, showing the eight staples in her crown.

An Unfortunate Injury Closes A Well-Executed Feud
Fomer friends turned bitter enemies, the feud between Sol Ruca and Zaria in NXT was well-executed, with Bully Ray even commenting that he saw jealousy as a contributing factor.
Two top stars in NXT, it’s Ruca who has the longer tenure as a WWE star, signing back in 2022 and coming from a non-wrestling background. Zaria signing two years later, having made her independent wrestling debut back in December 2020.
Ruca has shown commitment and skill to her craft that has allowed her to carve out a career to date seeing her become NXT Women’s North American Champion, though she admitted she had “imposter syndrome” when she first arrived in WWE.
The team of ZaRuca was also going to be a pairing of ambition, with both stars clearly destined for great things, be it in NXT or the main roster, and the break-up was always inevitable.
For a moment, it appeared they were going to reunite, and the fans on NXT reacted with hope that this was the case, with the shock of Zaria’s final act on show at the WWE Performance Center, with commentary reflecting on it being a mirror of something that Ruca had done a year ago at Stand and Deliver.
Only one table was shattered by the impact, though, with the proximity of the unbroken item of furniture being a concerning sight in the aftermath of the match. Ruca confirming that she had staples shows that she caught her head on the table, which many had speculated had been the case.
It’s likely that, after such a physical match with the Last Woman Standing stipulation, the plan was already in place for Ruca to be absent from television. The injury she suffered is no doubt going to keep her off-screen until it heals, given more time to consider what direction her WWE future takes.
