WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam made his AEW debut on last week’s episode of Dynamite, where Jerry Lynn introduced him as the opponent for FTW Champion Jack Perry.
Perry has been trashing ECW and former FTW Champions since he won the title from Hook back at the Blood & Guts special episode of Dynamite.
RVD made his in-ring debut for AEW on last night’s (August 9) episode of Dynamite, where he was defeated by Jack Perry in his debut.
Despite the loss, RVD impressed a lot of people with his performance, with many surprised to see the level at which the 52 year old former WWE Champion could still perform.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), those backstage in AEW were said to be happy with RVD’s performance in the match.
RVD’s appearance in AEW was said to only be a one off when he was brought in, but who knows if that will change following his performance.
WWE Hall if Famer and fellow former ECW star Bully Ray recently spoke about the story, and how he believes he could help bring 1 million viewers to Dynamite.
