Former Champion Discusses WWE Introducing New Women’s Titles WWE

A former champion has discussed WWE introducing new women’s titles.

On the June 9 edition of SmackDown, Adam Pearce presented Asuka with a brand new WWE Women’s Championship belt to replace the Raw Women’s Championship.

Meanwhile, Rhea Ripley was presented with a brand new WWE Women’s World Championship belt to replace the SmackDown Women’s Championship on the June 12 episode of WWE Raw.

Bayley is one of the few stars who has held the previous versions of each title and is a WWE Women’s Grand Slam Champion.

Speaking on WWE’s The Bump, Bayley was asked about the new titles and their significance to her. She said:

“I mean, they’re beautiful for one. I think it’s sad to see the other ones go, but it’s definitely time for a change because the locker room has changed so much, the roster has changed and grown so much. It’s kind of nice to see a brand-new slate, so to speak, just a brand-new look.”

“It’s kind of reminded me of when they got rid of the Divas Title and we were presented with the brand-new Raw Women’s Title, and Lita unveiled it at WrestleMania.”

“So it was kind of a cool moment to experience that, but now it lights a fire in me. I’ve done pretty much everything, so it lights a fire in me to want to see myself raising that title or to see IYO [SKY] raising either one of those titles.”

Bayley will have a chance to earn a guaranteed shot at either title anytime she wants when she competes in the Women’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match at the titular event on July 1.

The other participants in the bout will be Zelina Vega, Becky Lynch, Zoey Stark and Bayley’s fellow Damage CTRL member IYO SKY.
