Becky Lynch Nearly Signed With WWE Rival Promotion That ‘Treated Women Better’ WWE

Things could have been very different for WWE’s Becky Lynch had she joined a rival promotion when she moved to America.

During an appearance on The MMA Hour, Lynch revealed that she came close to joining TNA back when she was 19, saying:

“I was 19 years old and I was about to move over to America to do a personal training diploma in Orlando and my goal was maybe I can get into TNA because the way that they were treating women there was so much better than the way that they were treating women in WWE.

“So I was like I can make a splash there, but when I got hurt and then I felt like I was just all over the place, I done this bodybuilding competition, my hormones were all—I was just depressed.

“I was depressed, I was anxious, I was all over the place and I was just lost… So I left wrestling for seven years.”

Lynch would eventually sign with WWE in April 2013 and would go on to be a part of the “women’s revolution” of 2015.

Having held all women’s championships across the brands, she is also a WWE Grand Slam Champion.

In the interview, she would also reveal that she is in the “final two months” of her current WWE deal.

Looking at her future, she would also state that she is “closer to the end” of her wrestling career than she is the beginning.

At WrestleMania 40 on April 6 & 7, Lynch takes on Rhea Ripley for the WWE World Women’s Championship.
