Beth Phoenix Reveals Conversation With AEW’s FTR After WWE Elimination Chamber WWE/AEW

Beth Phoenix has revealed that she received some advice from AEW stars Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood of FTR after Elimination Chamber.

At the February 18 event, Phoenix and Edge defeated Rhea Ripley & Finn Balor of the Judgment Day, interestingly using the Shatter Machine, aka FTR’s Big Rig to put Balor away.

The bout marked Phoenix’ first match since teaming with Edge to face off against The Miz & Maryse at Royal Rumble 2022.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Phoenix recalled a conversation with FTR that helped her out after the bout:

“I was really beating myself up after the match because I really wanted to keep up. I felt like in some moments, I wasn’t there. I was talking to the Revival guys, FTR, and they gave me some great advice that I kind of leaned on.

“They said, ‘You know, the fact that we are perfectionists, that’s why we end up at the top of our business and being Hall of Fame. The reason we are so hard on ourselves is because we perform at that level and expect that of ourselves.’

“I was like, okay, I don’t want to take it so hard or take it home with me or really beat myself up, but at the same time, we know, no matter how good the performance is, we can always do better.

“I think that’s how you perform well for a long while in our business.”

Phoenix had admitted that she felt out of her league at Elimination Chamber.

Harwood and Wheeler are close with the Grit Couple, with FTR previously helping Edge to train for his wrestling return.

There has been a lot of speculation about FTR’s future, with the duo currently taking time off ahead of their AEW contracts expiring in April.
