WWE has just announced that Colin “Big Cass” Cassidy has been released from the company after the two parties agreed terms.
The company released a very short statement on its website:
“WWE has come to terms on the release of William Morrissey (Big Cass).”
The release comes just under 48 hours after he lost to Daniel Bryan at Money in the Bank. It was his first feud since returning from injury and the big man was clearly unhappy with his treatment.
He now joins his former tag partner Enzo Amore in the WWE release graveyard.
Note that the statement does not “wish him well in his future endeavours” which could suggest ill feelings between the two parties.
Or perhaps, as seemed to be the case with all of his “I am tall” promos, the writers simply did not have anything for him and so the decision was taken to release.
What do you think of this? Did he deserve another feud? Let us know what you think in the comments.
