Big Title Change At WWE Crown Jewel 2023

A big title change has taken place at WWE Crown Jewel 2023.

In what was the third title bout of the night, Rey Mysterio defended his United States Championship against social media mega star Logan Paul.

Following losses in major matches such as the 2023 Money in the Bank, against Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 39 and a year prior in his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match against Roman Reigns, many wondered if WWE would pull the trigger and give Paul his biggest win to date.

Throughout a predictably entertaining contest Paul would try and fail to put the Hall of Famer away by traditional means, leading to him pursuing methods outside of the WWE rulebook instead.

In a fashion identical to his win over Ricochet at SummerSlam, a member of Paul’s entourage would pass him a pair of brass knuckles to finish Mysterio off.

However, unlike SummerSlam, things would not go to plan initially due to the interference of LWO member Santos Escobar, who chased off Paul’s crony.

However, Paul would manage to get a hold of the brass knuckles once again, delivering a punch using them as Mysterio attempted to deliver a springboard following the 619, which then allowed Paul to pinm Mysterio.

The win saw Paul secure his first piece of title gold in his blossoming WWE career, in what will no doubt also be a great bit of extra publicity for WWE and the United States Championship.

There have been no other title changes at Crown Jewel so far, but we still have IYO SKY defending the WWE Women’s Championship against Bianca Belair, and Roman Reigns defending the Undisputed WWE Universal Title against LA Knight.
