A controversial former WWE star has confirmed helping Bad Bunny to train for his WWE Backlash match.
At WWE Backlash, Bad Bunny defeated Damian Priest in a highly entertaining San Juan Street Fight. This bout has been praised by fans and critics alike since last weekend.
Speaking with the Hitting The Turnbuckle podcast, former WWE star Brian Kendrick discussed his role in helping train Bad Bunny ahead of his recent match.
Despite rumors that Kendrick helped produce the match, the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion revealed that he was only helping because he had helped the award winning recording artist train for his WrestleMania 37 match.
“I think because of the comfort level we had built with Bunny and I, they requested me to come back for that.”
Kendrick later added that he did not produce the match at WWE Backlash. Crediting Bunny as “very motivated” and wanting to be good at this, Kendrick said:
“I know Bunny put in a lot of training. He was training for months. I thought the match was awesome.”
