Brock Lesnar Returning To WWE Soon?

WWE has seemingly dropped hints that former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar will make his return in the near future.

On this week’s episode of Raw, Drew McIntyre battled Kofi Kingston for the right to challenge for the WWE Title at Hell in a Cell. Prior to the main-event, McIntyre recalled defeating Lesnar at WrestleMania 36.

Lashley was unamused, asking why McIntyre mentioned somebody that “doesn’t even work here”. Performers are rarely mentioned on WWE TV if they’re no longer involved with the company, leading some fans to speculate that The Beast will return soon.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez pointed out that a Bobby Lashley vs Brock Lesnar match would make sense. Speculating that Lesnar could return in time for SummerSlam, Alvarez said:

“When I heard that I thought that they are building toward Lashley vs Lesnar. That is a match that they have not done. It is a match that people have been asking for a long time and maybe that’s their plan for SummerSlam. Maybe that is their plan for WrestleMania, etc.”

WWE begins touring again next month, with the July 16 episode of SmackDown set to feature a live crowd. Paul Heyman has previously suggested that Lesnar could return on this special episode of SmackDown.

SummerSlam 2021 airs on Saturday, August 21. With fans set to return for this year’s Biggest Party of the Summer, it has been reported that John Cena vs Roman Reigns is being considered for the event.
