An update has emerged on the wrestling future of Brock Lesnar following his loss at SummerSlam 2023.
On the August 5 premium live event, Lesnar faced off against Cody Rhodes for the third time this year.
Rhodes ultimately got the win, pinning Lesnar after multiple Cross Rhodes’.
Following the bout, Lesnar removed his gloves and shook Cody Rhodes’ hand, before uncharacteristically hugging the American Nightmare.
This moment of respect fuelled speculation that Lesnar is finishing up with WWE.
Per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, this is not the case, as WWE sources have indicated that Lesnar will only be out of action for ‘a little while’.
Noting that WWE is advertising Lesnar for an upcoming show, Meltzer noted:
“He (Brock Lesnar) is advertised for Fastlane, I’m not sure if that’s where he returns.
“He’s going to be gone for a little while is what I was told, but (not long).”

Fastlane 2023 is set to take place on October 7 at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Before then, WWE will host its Payback premium live event on September 2.
Another WWE star has revealed injuries following their SummerSlam bout, showing off their arm brace.
