AEW
A current champion in AEW’s contract has reportedly come up, with the latest on their status with the company.
Despite currently holding two titles as part of the ROH brand, the AEW contract of former WWE star Dustin Rhodes is reportedly set to expire soon.
Ever since Dustin’s brother Cody left AEW to return to WWE in 2022, many have speculated that he may also return to the company at the end of his contract.
It was reported shortly after AEW All Out that Dustin’s contract was set to expire in the Fall, and there has now been an update on his contract status with AEW.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), Dustin’s contract has already come up, though he has not necessarily left AEW and ROH as of yet.
It was reported by Fightful Select that his deal with the company was set to expire at the end of September or start of October, and Rhodes has not wrestled for the company since then despite currently reigning as both ROH Tag Team and ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champion.
Fightful has confirmed that negotiations between the two sides has been ongoing, but it was claimed that nothing was done as of yet.
Alongside his work in the ring, Dustin has long helped out with AEW‘s women’s division as well.
