Last week on WWE Backstage, CM Punk made his long-awaited return to the company. It was later confirmed that he will be appearing as an occasional analyst on the FS1 studio show.
Although he is technically working for FOX rather than WWE, many fans have started speculating that we could see the former WWE Champion step back into the ring in the near future.
With Survivor Series taking place this weekend in Chicago (CM Punk’s home state), some have speculated that he may return there. However, others have said that a return at the Royal Rumble might be better.
On Twitter, Wale asked CM Punk if he will be appearing in the Royal Rumble next year. In response, Punk had the following to say:
Nope. I’ll talk about it though. I work for Fox!

Of course, CM Punk would definitely not say that he was appearing in the Royal Rumble if he was scheduled to.
I do not expect him to appear in the match, but the pop would be enormous if Punk does appear as a surprise entrant at the #30 spot in the marquee match, setting up a WrestleMania 36 bout.
