With Survivor Series in Chicago now only two weeks away, the speculation about CM Punk potentially returning to WWE on the show is set to only get louder.
There have been many things that fans have believed to be references to Punk since his AEW termination on September 2, including lines from him promos, and Shinsuke Nakamura hitting a GTS.
WWE star Grayson Waller, who has a thing for poking the hornet’s nest on social media, made the latest reference to Punk on his Instagram, sharing a photo of him on commentary on SmackDown with the caption:
Even on commentary, nobody can touch me
This quote is obviously a reference to Punk’s Pipebomb promo, where he claimed to be the best in the world on the microphone, in the ring and even on commentary.
Well, that obvious reference was noticed by Punk, who responded to Waller’s post, simply saying:
😘
The latest on Punk’s potential return was that WWE and him were not in discussions for a return, with even those in the know not hearing about a potential return.
There have been loud chants of CM Punk at various WWE shows recently, including at WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia, and during Shinsuke Nakamura’s match on Raw this week.
Grayson Waller is set to face off against LA Knight on tonight’s (November 10) episode of SmackDown.
