WWE Star References CM Punk In Latest Message To Fans AEW

Grayson Waller has dropped a line that many are seeing as a reference to CM Punk in a recent social media post.

With WWE Survivor Series taking place in Chicago on November 25, 2023, the rumor mill has been turning about the possibility of a CM Punk appearance.

The current belief is that it isn’t planned to happen, but that hasn’t stopped fans from chanting Punk’s name at WWE shows recently.

Waller shared a photo of himself and Corey Graves at the commentary table which featured the caption:

“Even on commentary, nobody can touch me.”

While this could be seen as Waller at his most braggadocious, it also seems to be reference the infamous pipe bomb promo.

That CM Punk promo happened on June 27, 2011, with the then-WWE star tackling a number of issues.

During the promo on WWE Raw, Punk would say:

“The only thing that’s real is me and the fact that day in and day out, for almost six years, I have provided to everybody in the world that I am the best on this microphone, in that ring, even on commentary! Nobody can touch me!”

This wouldn’t be the first time Waller has referenced Punk – on the very same day Punk was fired, Waller posted a picture of himself with a can of Pepsi calling for Jey Uso to be “fired” for attacking him backstage.

Chants for “CM Punk” were heard at WWE Crown Jewel on November 4, 2023, in Saudi Arabia, as well as during Raw this week at one point.

CM Punk has also been a topic of conversation for Rocky Romero, with the NJPW star talking about the possibility of a Wrestle Kingdom appearance.

Romero also suggested that Tony Khan would be fine with Punk joining the company despite how things ended in AEW.

Punk has also been revealed as a top merch seller for AEW despite being fired from the company in September 2023 and being inactive for most of the year.
