Cody Rhodes Reveals What He Told Brandi Rhodes Moments Before WWE Return

Cody Rhodes has revealed what he told Brandi Rhodes immediately before making his entrance at WrestleMania 38.

WWE has shared a video capturing backstage moments in the hours leading up to Rhodes’ surprise WWE return. The video showed Cody kissing Brandi, and having a brief conversation before preparing to ascend up onto the stage.

While most of their conversation was subtitled, Rhodes’ final words to Brandi were virtually inaudible. On WWE The Bump, Rhodes revealed that he told Brandi ‘if thing’s go awry, go back to the bus’, referencing the bus they were hiding in to keep his return a secret.

Rhodes noted that he was not only worried that he wouldn’t be able to perform after being out of the ring for weeks, he was a little anxious that he was going to get jumped, and his return was a set-up.

Things ultimately didn’t go awry, and Cody defeated Seth Rollins after 21 minutes of back-and-forth action.
