Cody Rhodes Plans For WWE Payback 2023 Revealed

On tonight’s WWE SmackDown, the plans for Cody Rhodes at the upcoming premium live event, WWE Payback were revealed.

And no, it isn’t a match!

Announced for the event, a special edition of the Grayson Waller Effect featuring Cody Rhodes, adding Rhodes to the impressive list of guests hosted by Waller thus far on the main roster.

After previous appearances alongside Waller from Edge, John Cena and even a Twitter feud with The Rock, now Waller sits down for the first time with the American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes.

While Payback is scheduled for a week from Saturday, September 2, 2023, there are still only a few matches announced for the show.

In addition to the newly announced Grayson Waller Effect segment featuring Cody Rhodes there is also set to be a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between Seth Rollins and Shinsuke Nakamura, a steel cage match between Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus as well as Rhea Ripley defending her WWE Women’s World Championship against Raquel Rodriguez.

Also announced earlier on SmackDown for Payback was Rey Mysterio defending the United States Championship against Austin Theory.
