Several reports have provided insight on Cody Rhodes’ recent promo segment, and whether or not it was scripted.
On WWE The Bump, Cody stated that his promo on the April 4 ‘Raw After WrestleMania’ show was unscripted and from the heart.
This went against a previous scoop that Cody’s segment had been scripted ahead of the show.
Fightful Select (subscription required) has now confirmed Ringside News‘ report that the promo did appear in the script as read on air.
Fightful noted that Cody is expected to keep his current presentation, indicating that he likely he had input in the segment.
Ahead of Cody’s WWE return, it had been reported that several individuals high-up in WWE pushed for him to keep the presentation he created for himself away from WWE.
The former AEW EVP will face off against The Miz on Monday Night Raw. Both stars were victorious at WrestleMania 38, with Cody defeating Seth Rollins in singles action, and The Miz teaming with Logan Paul to defeat The Mysterios.
