A current WWE star has been pitched to be Randy Orton’s mystery caller on the March 16 episode of Monday Night Raw.
After his brutal attack of WWE WrestleMania 42 opponent Cody Rhodes on the March 13 episode of SmackDown, Randy Orton participated in a video call interview with Michael Cole on this past Monday’s episode of Raw.
However, before Cole could probe “The Viper” for answers regarding his actions against the Undisputed WWE Champion, Orton was shown to be on the phone with a mystery individual.
After ending the call, Orton said he had “finally had a conversation with someone that has a brain,” with this person reminding him of who and what he is: “A killer.”
Speculation has been rife ever since regarding who Orton was talking to, with many current and former WWE stars being linked to the big reveal, including Orton’s former WWE Evolution mentor Ric Flair.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray pitched the idea of Ric’s daughter Charlotte Flair being the one responsible, something he feels would be a “very different” twist to the storyline.
Bully Ray said:
“There’s no doubt that it can be Ric, and Ric can probably say things to Cody that are gonna take the wind out of Cody’s sails. But I’ll be damned if Charlotte can’t do it too and nobody’s gonna see Charlotte coming. It would be very different, a new take.
“You wanna talk about royal families, you’ll have an Orton in the ring, you’ll have a Flair in the ring, you’ll have a Rhodes in the ring. That’s cool in of itself right there. I love the idea of it being Charlotte.”

Could The Caller Actually Be Charlotte Flair?
As Bully Ray says, Charlotte Flair being revealed to be Orton’s caller would subvert fans’ expectations, as her name has not been among the favorites linked to the storyline thus far.
Charlotte Flair has been involved in a tag team with Alexa Bliss for the better part of the last year on WWE TV, with Flair initially playing a heel that was reluctant to the allegiance before eventually growing into the team as time as gone on.
Flair and Bliss appear to be in the mix for a WWE Women’s Tag Team Title match at WrestleMania 42, however, fans have long expected “The Queen” to turn heel again at some point.
With 28 world titles between them, Charlotte Flair aligning with Randy Orton would make for an unexpected way for WWE to execute a turn rather than Charlotte simply turning on Bliss as many would expect.
Along with Ric Flair, Randy’s father “Cowboy” Bob Orton has been linked with the spot – with the WWE Hall of Famer perhaps the most likely given Orton’s closing remarks to Michael Cole on Raw: “Wrestling has more than one royal family.”
