Charlie, formerly known has Dakota Kai, has commented on the possibility of making a return to WWE sometime in the future.

She was released by WWE in May 2025 and waited just under a year before making her in-ring return this past March.

She was previously released by WWE in April 2022, only to return the following July at SummerSlam to form Damage CTRL with Bayley and IYO SKY.

On Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Charlie was asked whether she thinks the door would be open to making another return to WWE this time around.

She said:

“I’m never one to burn bridges ever, in any capacity. They always treated me good and gave me good opportunities. So, who knows really. Yeah, I don’t know.

“I would love to just be able to focus on me right now and doing what’s best for me. I would never wanna just take any contract or whatever just for the sake of it.

“I think I’m at a point in my career where I want to do things with intention, and that doesn’t just mean doing it for the sake of doing it.”

After Charlie was considered one of the more surprising releases last year, it was another Damage CTRL member who made headlines in the post-WrestleMania 42 releases as Kairi Sane was released by WWE a few days ago.

Should Dakota Kai Return To WWE?

There’s no doubt the WWE women’s division is a better place with Dakota Kai in it, but the question is whether it’s the best thing for Charlie herself.

There’ll certainly be no shortage of promotions keen to book her now that she’s active again and a whole host of dream matches to be had outside of the WWE roster.

She may even be able to interact with some of the names still in WWE on other shows now that the company has relaxed its stance on talent working indies every so often, and forming partnerships with promotions like TNA.

But having given it two goes now, it’s hard to say anything would be different if she returned to WWE for a third time – and that isn’t through any fault of her own.
